“This is part of our long-term strategy to create a powerful Air Force that can guarantee the country’s security for years to come,” emphasized the president.

Strategy for the Development of Air Forces and Defense Industry

Among the key issues discussed by Zelensky and Umerov were further cooperation with allies to strengthen air defense, providing defense and energy support, as well as expanding the PURL program and tightening sanctions against the Russian Federation. Special attention was given to the development of the domestic defense industry: by 2025, Ukraine plans to ensure that up to 50% of the weapons on the front lines are of domestic production.

Establishment of a Joint Venture for Drone Production

The Ukrainian company Bullet and the American AIRO Group Holdings have signed a letter of intent to create a joint venture for the production of high-speed interceptor drones. The new drones are intended for the markets of the USA, NATO countries, and Ukraine itself. In terms of technical specifications, these drones are capable of reaching speeds of up to 450 km/h, covering distances of up to 200 km, and transporting payloads weighing between 2.5 to 9 kg. It is expected that the final cooperation agreement will be signed within the next 60 days. The newly established enterprise also plans to engage in the development of next-generation drones.
