Ukraine Presented the Concession Project for the ‘Chornomorsk’ Port in Warsaw

At an investment conference in Warsaw, Poland, Ukraine presented the key details of the concession project at the ‘Chornomorsk’ port in the Odesa region. The focus was on the terminal’s potential, the conditions for participating in the competition, as well as the measures from the government and partners aimed at ensuring transparency and attractiveness for investment.

The project involves a long-term concession of 40 years, covering two terminals: a container terminal and a universal terminal. This port has the potential to handle up to 760,000 twenty-foot containers and over 5 million tons of cargo annually. This project also complements the newly established Ukrainian corridor, which will facilitate the diversification of freight routes, improve trade reliability, and enhance customs efficiency.

“The terminal concession is not just an infrastructure project. It is an opportunity for investors to become part of the new logistics system of the Black Sea,” noted the Ministry of Development.

Additionally, earlier at the Polish Ministry of Agriculture, there were discussions about the possibility of leasing or purchasing the port in Odesa to gain access to the Black Sea for exporting grain from both Polish and European production.

Furthermore, the Danish container carrier A.P. Moeller-Maersk AS has also expressed interest in the possibility of a terminal concession at the ‘Chornomorsk’ port.
