In 2026, Ukraine sets an ambitious goal – to increase the production and supply of ground robotic complexes (GRC) for the needs of the Armed Forces to at least 50 thousand units. This directive has been given to the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff to ensure effective protection for military and civilians, optimize logistics, evacuation, and the execution of combat missions at the front.

Plans for expanding GRC production
Compared to last year, this year’s order volume already exceeds previous figures by more than double. It is emphasized that this is not the limit, and the development of GRC usage is progressing extremely dynamically. The widespread implementation of robotic complexes is expected to provide the army with an advantage in modern warfare conditions, reduce risks for personnel, and enhance the effectiveness of combat missions.
“Production and supply volumes must be increased. This year, a volume has already been contracted that is more than double compared to last year. This is a level that definitely needs to be even higher. The task for the Minister of Defense of Ukraine and the General Staff is to ensure at least 50,000 GRCs this year. Everyone must understand: this is about protecting lives, logistics at the front, evacuation, and combat missions. The use of GRCs is currently being developed as actively as possible,” emphasized Zelensky.
Priorities of the defense industry
The introduction of large-scale production of robotic systems will not only strengthen the country’s defense capability but also make significant progress in the development of Ukrainian technologies. President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that providing the military with modern equipment is a matter of security, life, and the effectiveness of tasks on the front line.
In addition to expanding GRC production, the head of state highlighted the need to ensure the supply of missiles for anti-ballistic systems at a level that corresponds to the already promised international assistance by May. This will allow maintaining a high level of defense capability and responding quickly to new challenges.
