Anti-Dumping Measures Against Turkey and China
At the meeting held on March 10, it was decided to initiate new anti-dumping investigations regarding the import of steel rods and angles of Turkish origin, as well as welding equipment from China. This is related to suspicions of products being supplied at artificially low prices, which may threaten the competitiveness of Ukrainian producers.
In addition, the commission extended the protective measures against the import of aerated concrete blocks from Belarus and products made of black metals without electrical insulation from China. The timelines for conducting investigations into the import of cable and wire products from several countries were also extended.
Detailed Approach to Trade Protection
Vitaliy Kindraty, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine, emphasized the importance of such measures to protect national interests and support Ukrainian manufacturers. He highlighted that all decisions are made based on in-depth economic analysis and in accordance with international trade standards.
“Anti-dumping investigations allow the state to respond to cases of unfair competition in the market. If an imported product enters Ukraine at an artificially low price and this poses risks for Ukrainian producers, the state can apply trade protection tools,” emphasized Vitaliy Kindraty, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Economy, as of early March 2026, there are already 29 trade protection measures in effect in Ukraine, which effectively serve as a “trade shield” for domestic industry.
All recommendations for establishing protective tariffs are based on clear legal criteria: proven instances of dumping, significant harm to the producer, established cause-and-effect relationships, and consideration of national interests.
