This is reported by Finway

“As of early May, Ukraine has completed the key stage of repairs to international highways ahead of schedule. The total area of the updated surface exceeded 7.3 million sq. m, which is 104% of the planned volumes.”

Restoration of strategic transport routes

The repair campaign started last winter, and according to government estimates, it was implemented faster than planned. The main efforts were focused on restoring the most important transport arteries that ensure international connectivity, export, and logistics corridors. The completion of work took place on several critical routes, including the roads Kyiv – Kovel – Yagodyn, Kyiv – Chop, Kyiv – Chernihiv – Novi Yarylovychi, Kyiv – Kharkiv – Dovzhansky, Lviv – Krakivets, Ternopil – Lviv – Rava-Ruska, Odesa – Kuchurhan, and Odesa – Reni. These routes connect the capital with various regions of the country and provide access to state borders.

Updating national roads continues

After the completion of the main stage of repairs, road workers continue to update national highways and carry out current and preventive repairs on already restored sections. Special attention is paid to regions located near the combat zone, as this is where the roads experience the heaviest load and have critical damage. In the 40-kilometer zone from the front line, infrastructure restoration is ongoing, covering dozens of sections with a total length of over 1200 kilometers.

The prompt restoration of road infrastructure contributes to maintaining uninterrupted logistics, rapid movement of resources, and strengthening the economic resilience of the country in wartime. It was previously anticipated that all work would be completed by June 1, 2026, but key stages have been successfully completed ahead of schedule.
