Creating ‘Green’ Jobs and Increasing Salaries
Additionally, Ukraine plans to develop ‘green’ jobs, focusing not only on rebuilding infrastructure after the war but also on forming an environmentally friendly economy that is open to innovation and equal opportunities for all citizens. According to forecasts, the reconstruction of the country has the potential to create up to 4.2 million new jobs, with approximately 1.2 million of them in sustainable development sectors.
To attract specialists to the construction and building materials production sectors, the Ministry of Development has signed a new agreement with trade unions. The document provides for a 100% increase in minimum wages in these industries. The new tariff rate for workers will be 401% of the minimum subsistence level (₴12,142), whereas previously this figure was 231%, or ₴6,995.
