Ukraine and Czech Republic Prepare Agreement on Technical and Financial Cooperation

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko held a working meeting with the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, who is on an official visit to Kyiv.

Czech Support and Hospital Upgrades

Svyrydenko thanked the Czech Republic for the military and humanitarian assistance provided, emphasizing the importance of support for Ukraine. She noted that within the framework of the Ukraine Facility, the Czech side will continue the modernization of Ukrainian medical institutions, particularly in frontline regions.

According to the Prime Minister, thanks to the assistance from the Czech Republic, six cogeneration units with a total capacity of 1.45 megawatts are already operating in the Kharkiv region, ensuring uninterrupted heat supply for Chuhuiv. Additionally, two more such units are being prepared for connection to provide for the city hospital.

Step Towards Intergovernmental Cooperation

“We plan to sign an intergovernmental agreement on technical and financial cooperation in the near future, which will mutually strengthen our states. We already have established formats that have proven their effectiveness, including joint government consultations and an intergovernmental commission on economic, industrial, and scientific-technical cooperation,” said the head of the government.

The President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, arrived in Kyiv on January 16, having visited Lviv the day before as part of his visit to Ukraine.
