The media group ‘Trukha Ukraine’ together with its founder and owner Maksym Lavrynenko has purchased an apartment for a family of displaced persons from Lysychansk in the Luhansk region. The funds for the housing purchase were allocated from the profits of the media group as part of the social initiative ‘Trukha Gives Housing’. The keys to the new apartment were handed over to Olha and Yevhen, who are raising two children.

Story of the Displaced Family
Olha has a second-degree disability and suffers from diabetes with numerous complications that require constant treatment. Her husband Yevhen is a veteran and a combat participant who sustained a concussion and was forced to leave home twice due to the war. Their apartment in Lysychansk was destroyed, and the city is currently under occupation. Before receiving the new housing, the family of four lived in a 12-square-meter room in Lviv region, in a former monastery building.
“You are simply giving people their lives back. We have two children, and if they have no place to live, then our lives are over too. Now we know that our children have a home,” Olha emotionally confessed after signing the documents.
Maksym Lavrynenko thanked the family for their trust and noted that making their dream come true was possible thanks to the cohesive work of the entire ‘Trukha Ukraine’ team.
Activity of the ‘Trukha Gives Housing’ Project
The initiative ‘Trukha Gives Housing’ has been operating for the third consecutive year. During this period, housing has been provided to Kharkiv families with children whose homes were destroyed during shelling, a large family of displaced persons from Kharkiv region who experienced occupation and relocated to western Ukraine, as well as a pensioner with a disability from the Bakhmut region who is raising her orphaned grandson in Kyiv.
Applications for participation in the project are accepted through an online form. The ‘Trukha Ukraine’ team reviews all applications confidentially and with special attention, prioritizing assistance to large families, single parents, families with persons with disabilities, as well as families of fallen or missing defenders.
