Domestic Hybrid Car Market: Which Models Are Preferred by Ukrainians
Although hybrids do not yet dominate the domestic market (their share is only 2%), demand for them is gradually increasing. In the first six months of 2025, the highest number of resales among hybrids was recorded for the Toyota RAV4 — 949 purchase and sale transactions. There is also high demand for the Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion (in Hybrid and Energi versions), as well as the popular hybrid Toyota Prius.
The top ten most sought-after hybrid models in the domestic market also include the Chevrolet Volt, Ford C-Max, Audi Q8, and Volvo XC90.
Import of Used Hybrids: Leaders Among Ukrainian Car Enthusiasts
Among the hybrid cars imported into Ukraine from abroad, the Toyota Prius confidently holds the top position. Following closely behind is the Ford Fusion, also known as the American version of the Ford Mondeo. This model is available in both the classic HEV (Hybrid) version and the plug-in variant (Energi), which provides an electric range of approximately 30–40 km.
Experts note that demand for the KIA Niro and Ford Escape among imported hybrids has surged rapidly. These models gained popularity in the US market and are now actively winning the trust of Ukrainian motorists.
“Hybrids are not the most common product, their share is only 2%. However, this is still not zero, especially when collecting data on purchase and sale transactions over six months.”
Thus, Ukrainians are increasingly choosing hybrid cars, both among new models and used cars from abroad. The popularity of this segment is growing due to its efficiency, eco-friendliness, and a wide selection of models for various needs.
