The United Kingdom Plans to Fund Ukraine Through the Sale of Seized Russian Oil

The United Kingdom is discussing the idea of directing funds obtained from the sale of oil seized from tankers of the Russian shadow fleet to support Ukraine. This mechanism will not only help cut off financial flows to the Russian Federation but also directly assist the Ukrainian resistance by utilizing profits from sanctioned oil.

Details of the Discussion and Legal Grounds

According to one of the proposed options, London intends not only to detain tankers carrying sanctioned oil but also to direct the proceeds to finance Ukraine. At the same time, sources within the government acknowledge that the practical implementation of this initiative remains an open question.

“This will have a dual impact on the Russian war machine – we will not only deprive them of illegal military revenues but also find a way to help finance Ukraine’s resistance,” said a source.

Actions of British Intelligence Services and Sanctioned Vessels

In the context of these plans, British elite special forces are already preparing for possible raids against vessels of the Russian shadow fleet. The UK government has established the necessary legal framework for such operations. This week, two sanctioned tankers – Spring Fortune and Range Vale – are set to pass through the English Channel. Both vessels are transporting Russian oil under false flags of Cameroon and Zimbabwe, making them likely targets for action by British authorities. Additionally, allies are tracking the movements of several other sanctioned Russian vessels, intensifying control over illegal oil trading.
