A factory for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles, the largest in the country, is set to open in Swindon, UK, in 2026. The Portuguese company Tekever, which already operates three factories in the UK manufacturing AR3 drones, will undertake the construction of the facility. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the British government has purchased Tekever drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, amounting to approximately £270 million. These drones have been actively used to target Russian air defense systems.

Expansion of Production Capacity in Swindon
Tekever will join other drone manufacturers already operating in Swindon, including the German company Stark and the Norwegian Munin Dynamics. The company DSEI Flyby is also preparing to collaborate in the region. The opening of the new factory will create additional jobs and strengthen the defense industry in the United Kingdom.
Poland Increases Artillery Ammunition Production
Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) has identified the British conglomerate BAE Systems as a strategic partner for organizing the production of 155-millimeter artillery ammunition. In the coming weeks, PGZ plans to acquire a license, with the agreement set to last for 40 years. Through this collaboration, Poland will gain the ability to export shells to third countries, including Ukraine. It is expected that within two years, production volumes will reach 130,000 shells per year, whereas currently PGZ produces only several tens of thousands of ammunition annually.
