Batch of Boilers to Heat Thousands of Homes

An official meeting for the first batch of equipment, consisting of 78 boilers, took place in the Kyiv region. The event was attended by the Italian Ambassador to Ukraine, Carlo Formosa, and the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, Oleksiy Kuleba. In total, Italy has provided Ukraine with 300 industrial boilers.

“The boilers are intended for damaged urban networks, hospitals, and communities that provide essential services: this humanitarian initiative will ensure a total thermal capacity sufficient for approximately 90,000 homes or an urban center with 250,000 residents,” stated Formosa.

Additional Humanitarian Support from Italy

The ambassador noted that this assistance fulfills a promise made by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Additionally, Italy has initiated a program to supply medium and large capacity generators to ensure the operation of hospitals, water supply systems, and other critical infrastructure facilities in the event of power outages.

To support Ukraine’s energy sector, the Italian government has allocated an additional 10 million euros as part of the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine. The total amount of humanitarian assistance from Italy in the field of energy security has already exceeded 135 million euros.
