The Diia Service Simplified the Submission of Claims to the Loss Register for Ukrainians Abroad

The Diia service has implemented an updated mechanism for submitting claims to the Loss Register for Ukraine, aimed at citizens who find themselves abroad due to the war or are unable to return home.

Automatic Data Retrieval on Border Crossing

After the latest update, the system has become more accurate and automatically loads information about border crossings. This is an important element during the application process and allows users to complete the procedure more easily without the need for additional corrections or re-entering data.

“Submitting a claim allows for the official recording of the fact of forced displacement and its inclusion in the international database on the consequences of Russian aggression. Such appeals may become an important component of future mechanisms for compensating losses caused by the war.”

Who Can Access the Service

The updated capabilities pertain to the category of “Forced Displacement Beyond Ukraine.” This includes citizens who left Ukraine after the onset of the full-scale invasion, as well as those who were abroad and cannot return due to hostilities or occupation.

Thanks to the new functionality, Ukrainians affected by the war can officially document their status and provide relevant information for further consideration in international legal and compensation processes.

In addition, the Diia application has launched a recruitment for participants for beta testing a new service — online termination of employment relationships with employers in temporarily occupied territories. This service is designed for individuals who, as a result of occupation or hostilities, have lost contact with their employer and cannot resign in the standard manner.
