How much will a family pay and how does the type of stove affect it

For an average family of three with a gas stove, the monthly electricity consumption norm is 130 kWh. Under these conditions, the amount on the bill will be 561.6 UAH. If an electric stove is used in the household, the norm increases to 170 kWh, which is equivalent to 734.4 UAH per month.

Tips for saving and the advantages of dual-zone meters

The Ministry of Energy emphasizes that owners of dual-zone meters have the opportunity to save significantly by paying for electricity during nighttime hours (from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM) at a reduced rate of 2.16 UAH/kWh. Thus, the payment for electricity during nighttime hours is half that of daytime hours.

The State Agency for Energy Efficiency recommends following simple ways to save:

  • Turn off the lights in rooms that are unoccupied and use energy-efficient bulbs, including LED lights.
  • Install motion sensors in hallways so that the lights turn on only when needed.
  • Use household appliances rated “A” or “A+” for energy efficiency, as they consume 30–50% less electricity.
  • Unplug electrical appliances when not in use, as they still consume power even in standby mode.
  • Keep the refrigerator clean and place it away from direct sunlight to reduce energy consumption.

We remind you that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine established a single fixed price for electricity at 4.32 UAH/kWh for all residents of Ukraine, regardless of consumption volume, by resolution No. 632 dated May 31, 2024.
