Main Housing and Utility Expenses
According to the experience of a Ukrainian woman who recently moved to Germany, the majority of the budget is allocated to housing and utility costs. Renting an apartment costs 315 euros per month, while an additional 200 euros goes towards utility payments. Additional expenses, such as cleaning the entrance and garbage collection, raise the total cost of living to approximately 600 euros per month.
Monthly Budget for Groceries, Transportation, and Other Needs
The family spends about 500 euros per month on food, as they primarily cook at home and rarely visit restaurants or order takeout. Separately, they allocate another 50 euros for their favorite beer. To maintain an active lifestyle, the couple spends 70 euros on a gym membership and 40 euros on internet.
Transportation costs include 100 euros for gasoline each month. Additionally, since the boyfriend of the Ukrainian woman smokes, they spend about 100 euros on cigarettes. For vacations and trips, the family saves approximately 200 euros each month, and even more when possible.
“Overall, for two people to live in Germany, 1660 euros will be sufficient.”
It is worth noting that the mentioned amount is approximate, as unforeseen expenses can sometimes arise, such as for clothing purchases or car maintenance.
