The US and the UK have entered into a significant technology cooperation agreement worth $42 billion. The document encompasses joint development in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and civil nuclear energy. Major Investments from American Tech Leaders

As part of the agreements, leading tech companies from the US, including Microsoft, Google, Nvidia, CoreWeave, Salesforce, Scale AI, BlackRock, Oracle, and AWS, have announced substantial investments in the UK economy. The total amount of announced investments reaches $42 billion.

Microsoft plans to invest $30 billion in expanding cloud infrastructure and developing artificial intelligence solutions, including building a supercomputer in Loughton. Nvidia will deploy 120,000 graphics processors in the country, with 60,000 innovative Grace Blackwell Ultra chips to be installed in collaboration with the British company Nscale as part of the Stargate project. Google is allocating $6.8 billion for the creation of a data center in Waltham Cross and supporting scientific research at DeepMind. CoreWeave has announced a $3.4 billion investment in the development of data processing centers. Other giants, including Salesforce, Scale AI, BlackRock, Oracle, and AWS, have also joined the initiative with investments ranging from hundreds of millions to several billion dollars.

Strategic Importance of the Agreement for the Countries

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized the importance of the partnership for both nations. He highlighted London’s intention to make the country a hub for tech investments, focusing on a more flexible regulatory approach compared to the European Union.

“The agreement has the potential to impact the lives of millions on both sides of the Atlantic.”

According to Nvidia representative David Hogan, the implementation of investment projects will enable the UK not only to consume but also to produce leading technologies in the field of artificial intelligence. Experts note that the signed agreement strengthens the UK’s position as a center for innovation, while the US demonstrates its determination to solidify its alliance with a key partner in high-tech sectors. The document also emphasizes a shared strategic interest in enhancing energy and digital security.
