Fuel Supply and Price Control

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issue of stable fuel supply for all categories of consumers. Special emphasis was placed on guaranteed supplies for the Defense Forces, emergency services, and agricultural producers due to the start of the planting season. Representatives of the largest gas station networks informed government officials about the available fuel reserves and plans for imports in April.

Yulia Sviridenko emphasized that the market is currently sufficiently supplied with resources, and the increased demand is beginning to decrease. She instructed the Antimonopoly Committee and the State Consumer Service to continue monitoring the price situation in the market and to respond promptly in case of violations, while not creating obstacles for business operations.

“I instructed the leadership of the Antimonopoly Committee and the State Consumer Service to continue monitoring the price levels in the Ukrainian market and to respond as needed in case of violations, without hindering business operations”

Fuel Imports and Government Support for the Population

According to Sviridenko, the joint-stock company “Ukrnafta” maintains a price benchmark for the gasoline and diesel market, taking into account trends in global markets that are affected by the situation in the Middle East.

Additionally, the government is developing new targeted programs to support citizens in light of rising global oil prices. Among the planned measures is a one-time payment of 1500 UAH for the most vulnerable groups of the population, as well as providing cashback on fuel within the “National Cashback” program.

As of March 16, the average price of A-95 gasoline in Ukraine increased by 17 kopecks, reaching 69.31 UAH per liter. Diesel fuel rose by 1 UAH 85 kopecks to 76.76 UAH per liter.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal noted that since the beginning of March, nearly 250 thousand tons of fuel have been imported into Ukraine. Most supply contracts are currently being fulfilled, and imports are being carried out from more than ten countries.
