Stabilization Power Outages in Kyiv: Schedules and Tips for Residents

In Kyiv, stabilization power outages have been implemented since October 23, as reported by the company “DTEK Kyiv Electric Networks”. Instead of the emergency shutdowns that occurred earlier, planned schedules approved by “Ukrenergo” are now being used.

How Power Outages Are Organized in the Capital

Residents of Kyiv are divided into six groups, each with a specific power outage schedule. Depending on the load on the energy system, the duration of power interruptions may range from 4 to 11 hours per day.

To find out their outage schedule, Kyiv residents can use the following channels:

  • the official website of “DTEK Kyiv Electric Networks”;
  • the company’s Telegram or Viber channel;
  • the “DTEK” mobile application.

“We received an order from ‘Ukrenergo’ to switch from emergency outages to stabilization ones. This will allow us to conduct outages predictably, in turns, to avoid network overloads.”

Recommendations for Rational Use of Electricity

Energy specialists advise residents to use electricity as sparingly as possible, especially during the evening hours from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. It is advisable to avoid simultaneously turning on energy-intensive appliances such as boilers, washing machines, ovens, or electric heaters.

After the restoration of electricity supply, it is recommended to gradually connect household appliances to prevent voltage spikes. If possible, power banks or generators should be used to ensure the operation of critically important devices.
