Outage Schedules and Restrictions for Industry
On Friday, December 12, hourly electricity outage schedules will be implemented in all regions of Ukraine. As noted by “Ukrenergo,” these measures are being introduced to stabilize the operation of the energy system. The restrictions apply not only to residential consumers but also to industrial ones, for whom the power supply will be reduced.
Duration of Outages and Reasons
Although the number of outage shifts to be implemented on December 12 has not been officially disclosed by energy officials, according to the head of “Ukrenergo,” Vitaliy Zaychenko, the average duration of power outages for the population will be about 12 hours per day.
The ongoing reason for the electricity supply restrictions remains the consequences of missile and drone attacks by Russian occupiers on energy infrastructure.
The situation in the energy sector remains controlled but extremely tense. Energy workers urge citizens to be prepared for prolonged outages and to use electricity sparingly to help stabilize the load on the grid.
