Slovakia has officially announced the cessation of emergency electricity supply for Ukraine; however, this decision will not affect the stability of electricity supply in the homes of Ukrainian consumers.

Official Position of NEC “Ukrenergo”
According to NEC “Ukrenergo,” the Ukrainian side received a formal notification from the Slovak energy system operator SEPS regarding the suspension of the relevant agreement only a few weeks after the public announcement of such intentions. The final termination of the mutual emergency support agreement was agreed upon for May.
“The reasons for which our colleagues are canceling the agreement have not been explained by the management of SEPS. For its part, NEC ‘Ukrenergo’ has never violated any contractual terms with SEPS, acting in the spirit of good neighborliness and respect for European legislation norms”
Impact on the Ukrainian Energy System
As emphasized by NEC “Ukrenergo,” ordinary consumers will not experience any negative changes due to this decision. Emergency assistance from Slovakia was used very rarely — the last time was at the beginning of January. At the same time, commercial electricity imports from this country will remain fully available: Ukrainian companies will continue to be able to purchase electricity at auctions without additional restrictions.
