From July to November 2025, Ukraine exported 1.2 million tons of barley, which is 37% less compared to the same period of the previous marketing year. This volume accounts for 46% of the projected export potential of this crop for the current season.

In November 2025, the volume of barley exports from Ukraine amounted to 78.2 thousand tons, which is 50% less than in the same month last year. The main buyers of Ukrainian barley during the reporting period were China (42% of total exports), Turkey (20%), and Libya (12%).
Significant Increase in Purchases by Turkey
It is noteworthy that Turkey significantly intensified its import of Ukrainian barley, increasing purchases by 6.4 times—from 36 thousand tons last season to 233 thousand tons this season. At the same time, China and Libya reduced their purchases of this crop by 31% and 37%, respectively.
“It should be noted that Turkey has increased its imports of Ukrainian barley this season by 6.4 times, purchasing 233 thousand tons compared to 36 thousand tons last season. Meanwhile, China and Libya reduced their barley purchases by 31% and 37%, respectively,” the report states.
According to analytical estimates, the export potential of Ukrainian barley in the 2025/26 season is projected to be 2.5 million tons, which is 11% higher than the previous year’s figure. The forecast for the gross harvest of barley in Ukraine is 5.3 million tons.
