Severe Weather Leaves Dozens of Communities in Ternopil and Lviv Regions Without Power

As a result of a sharp deterioration in weather conditions on the night of December 29, thousands of residents in the Ternopil and Lviv regions were left without electricity. In particular, in Ternopil, residents of 109 communities found themselves without power. According to the regional military administration, the networks suffered significant damage, leading to emergency outages affecting 12,699 consumers.

As of 6:00 AM, due to worsening weather conditions in the Ternopil region, damage to the electrical networks has resulted in emergency outages for 12,699 consumers in 109 communities

Emergency response teams are working around the clock to restore electricity as quickly as possible. Residents of the region are urged to be extremely cautious near trees and to avoid approaching power lines that may be damaged.

Situation in Lviv Region

In the Lviv region, the severe weather has also caused significant damage to the energy infrastructure. According to operational data as of 8:00 AM, 16 communities remain completely without power, while another 70 are partially without electricity. A total of 29 emergency response teams from “Lvivoblenergo” are engaged in efforts to restore electricity supply.

Due to adverse weather conditions, rescuers and energy workers strongly recommend that residents exercise caution, especially near fallen trees and damaged electrical networks. Restoration work is ongoing at an intensified pace, and specialists are making every effort to restore power to the homes of residents in the affected communities as quickly as possible.
