Employers are particularly eager to find staff in the hospitality industry, with in-demand professions including waiters, cooks, bartenders, and housekeepers. Increase in Demand for Seasonal Workers in Odesa
According to a major job portal, Odesa continues to regain its position as a tourist center, which directly impacts the number of seasonal job offers. Compared to June 2024, the number of vacancies in the city has increased by 80%, yet the demand for temporary employment remains high — on average, there are 42 applications for each vacancy. The median salary for seasonal workers has also risen by 17%.
Most In-Demand Professions and Salary Levels
Among seasonal job offers, the highest number of vacancies are available for the following specialists:
- Driver — median salary 42,500 UAH;
- Waiter — 37,500 UAH;
- Cook — 34,000 UAH;
- Bartender — 30,000 UAH;
- Salesperson — 25,000 UAH;
- Construction Worker — 25,000 UAH;
- Housekeeper — 22,000 UAH;
- Entry-Level Vacancies — 19,000 UAH;
- Laborer — 19,000 UAH;
- Cleaner — 16,000 UAH.
The figures indicate an increased interest in seasonal employment among the population, as well as positive trends in the labor market during the summer period.
“The hospitality sector traditionally remains a driver of the seasonal labor market. From the analysis above, it is clear that waiters, cooks, and housekeepers are in the highest demand. In Odesa, we see not only a consistently high demand but also positive dynamics: compared to last year, the number of seasonal vacancies has increased by 80%, and the median salary has risen by 17%. This is a signal of the gradual recovery of domestic tourism and a revival of economic activity in the city,” analysts assert.
Thus, seasonal work in Ukraine in 2025 is becoming increasingly attractive for both employers and job seekers, contributing to the further strengthening of the economy and the development of the service sector.
