In June 2025, the Ukrainian market for passenger cars is experiencing significant changes in sales dynamics. On one hand, the import of used cars has slowed down, while on the other hand, the demand for new passenger cars shows a noticeable increase.

Trends in Used Car Imports
Last month, Ukraine registered 20,500 imported used passenger cars. Compared to May, this is an 8.8% decrease, however, on a year-over-year basis, there is a 9.6% increase. Since the beginning of the year, the market for imported cars has been growing significantly: if 14,500 cars were registered in January, this figure reached 22,500 in May. However, in June, the positive trend was interrupted.

Revival of New Car Sales
At the same time, sales of new passenger cars in June showed substantial growth. During the month, 6,217 new cars were sold, which is 23% higher than the figure for the same period last year. This dynamic has allowed the gap from the results of the first half of 2024 to be reduced to almost zero (only -0.95%), effectively offsetting the decline recorded at the beginning and in the spring of 2025. However, compared to May of this year, sales of new passenger cars in June decreased by 9.3%. In total, over the first six months of 2025, Ukrainians purchased 33,773 new passenger cars.
