Extent of Damage and Preliminary Losses

The exact number of casualties and the extent of material damage remain unknown. According to information from the company’s official website, “BaDM” operates warehouse complexes with a total area of 60,000 square meters, making it one of the largest pharmaceutical logistics centers in Ukraine.

“On November 15, Russian military forces struck the Dnipro warehouse of the second-largest pharmaceutical distributor ‘Optima-Pharm’. The warehouse was completely destroyed, but no employees were harmed.”

Systematic Attacks on Pharmaceutical Infrastructure

The chain of attacks on pharmaceutical warehouses began back in August, when on the 28th, Russian forces launched a missile strike on the ‘Optima-Pharm’ warehouse in Kyiv. On October 25, another attack destroyed the warehouse complex and office of the same company in the capital, with damages estimated at around 100 million dollars. As a result of this attack, Ukraine lost about 20% of its monthly supply of medicines.

At the beginning of the large-scale invasion, Russian forces had already struck the logistics centers of “BaDM” in the Kyiv and Poltava regions, significantly affecting the supply of medications to the population.

A series of attacks targeting pharmaceutical infrastructure poses serious risks to the stable supply of medicines in the country.
