On May 2, Russian troops launched massive attacks on Naftogaz’s critical infrastructure in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. As a result of the shelling, an employee of the energy company was injured and is receiving necessary medical assistance.

Extent of damage and course of events
The day before, on May 1, a gas extraction facility in the Kharkiv region came under enemy fire. The shelling damaged equipment, and specialists from Naftogaz are currently on-site to assess the extent of the destruction and organize recovery efforts.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, on May 2, a Russian aerial bomb hit a gas pipeline, leading to a temporary shutdown of gas supply to some consumers. Repair crews from the company are coordinating their actions with the military and will begin to address the aftermath as soon as the security situation stabilizes.
Naftogaz’s response and attack statistics
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the shelling resulted in injuries to one of the employees of the Naftogaz Group. He is receiving prompt medical assistance. The head of the board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, Serhiy Koretskyi, reported that this year alone, the Russians have already attacked the company’s facilities 99 times.
“For the second day, Russian troops are attacking the critical infrastructure of the Naftogaz Group,” noted Koretskyi.
It is worth mentioning that on April 23, a gas pipeline was also damaged near Velyka Pysarivka in the Sumy region due to shelling by the Russian Federation.
