A repeated strike on railway infrastructure has been recorded in the Chernihiv region, resulting in significant delays for passenger trains. Due to damage to energy systems and tracks, trains on the Sumy and Chernihiv routes are forced to operate under backup locomotives, causing schedule deviations.

Significant Train Delays and Safety Measures
Currently, the train No. 143 on the Sumy – Lviv route is experiencing the longest delay, falling behind schedule by seven hours. In the opposite direction, train No. 144 Lviv – Sumy will also depart with a delay. Passengers are being warned about possible changes to the schedule and are advised to monitor the latest information regarding train departure and arrival times.
“We are inspecting the tracks, and we already have confirmed power outages on the Nizhyn route. All trains on the Sumy and Chernihiv routes will operate under backup locomotives, which means delays,” the statement reads.
Restoration of Schedule and Additional Measures
To minimize inconvenience, “Ukrzaliznytsia” is reducing forced stops and organizing safe transfers for passengers. Company representatives emphasized that the latest strike has further complicated the stabilization of railway services, as significant difficulties with train movements in Chernihiv region were already observed following the nighttime attack on September 30.
