Prices of Popular Vegetables in Ukraine Are Rapidly Rising

The Ukrainian vegetable market is experiencing a significant price increase. According to analysts from the EastFruit project, last week, the prices of popular vegetables, particularly cabbage, began to rise. The lower price limit for cabbage increased from 42 to 44 hryvnias per kilogram.

Carrots are also becoming more expensive: their lower price limit rose from 25 to 27 hryvnias. At the same time, potato producers are able to lower prices, and currently, this vegetable is sold for 13-23 hryvnias per kilogram, whereas a week ago, prices ranged from 15 to 24 hryvnias.

Price Increase for Tomatoes and Radishes

The first batches of local greenhouse tomatoes have appeared on the market, which turned out to be more expensive than imported ones. The price of tomatoes increased from 65-85 to 85-135 hryvnias per kilogram. Other vegetables also experienced changes: the price of zucchini decreased from 110-115 to 95-110 hryvnias, while Beijing cabbage became more expensive, rising from 55-60 to 60-90 hryvnias per kilogram.

High demand for radishes allowed sellers to raise prices: the lower limit increased from 50 to 65 hryvnias per kilogram. In the greens segment, there has been a recorded price increase for green onions – the lower limit rose from 100 to 130 hryvnias.

Fruits Are Becoming Cheaper

At the same time, there is a trend of decreasing prices in the fruit sector. Grapes have seen the largest price drop: the lower limit fell from 175 to 110 hryvnias per kilogram. The price of kiwis also decreased – the upper limit reduced from 270 to 190 hryvnias, and the price of mandarins dropped from 75-135 to 65-125 hryvnias per kilogram.
