In Ukraine, there is once again a decrease in carrot prices, which experts from the analytical project EastFruit attribute to subdued demand for this vegetable. As of Thursday, April 3, carrot prices in Ukrainian farms range from 24 to 30 UAH/kg (approximately $0.58-0.73/kg), which is about 10% lower than last week’s figures.

Reasons for the Decrease in Carrot Prices
The main reason for this trend, according to specialists, is insufficient demand for the vegetable. Additionally, the deterioration in the quality of carrots in storage also affects the price. Farmers, despite the reduction in carrot stocks in storage, are forced to lower prices. They are still shipping carrots at prices that are, on average, 3.5 times higher than at the beginning of April last year.
Carrot Prices in Supermarkets
Carrot prices in retail chains also vary: in Auchan, the vegetable can be purchased for 35.90 UAH/kg, in ATB for 19.95 UAH/kg, while in Silpo, prices start from 39.50 UAH per kilogram.
