In 2025, Ukrainian pensioners who reach the designated age can expect an increase in their pension payments. The supplements to pensions amount to 300, 456, or 570 UAH depending on the age category and aim to partially compensate for inflation-related losses.

How Pension Supplements Are Calculated
The payment of the supplement is assigned not from the beginning of the calendar month, but from the day after the pensioner’s birthday. The first payment is made proportionally to the number of days in the month. There is no need to contact the Pension Fund to receive the supplement — the calculation occurs automatically. If a person has already been assigned one of the supplements, upon reaching the next age milestone, the amount of the supplement is automatically increased. For example, a pensioner who received 456 UAH after turning 75 will start receiving 570 UAH (an additional 114 UAH) upon reaching 80 years of age.
“The calculation of the supplement begins not from the start of the calendar month, but from the day after the birthday. Therefore, the first payment will be made proportionally to the number of days. Important! A person who has already been assigned a pension supplement (for example, 456 UAH for reaching 75 years) will receive an additional 114 UAH upon reaching 80 years, meaning the amount of the supplement will increase to 570 UAH,” explains the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
It is important to note that the supplements do not accumulate — a pensioner can receive only one of them depending on their age. If the pension amount exceeds 10,340.3 UAH, the supplement is not assigned.
- From 70 to 74 years — 300 UAH
- From 75 to 79 years — 456 UAH
- From 80 years — 570 UAH
Pension System: Statistics and Features
Currently, over 10 million people in Ukraine receive pensions, of which about 7.5 million are age-related. Other categories include pensioners due to disability, loss of breadwinner, length of service, as well as recipients of social pensions and lifetime monetary maintenance for judges. According to data from April 2025, the average pension amount for age-related pensions is 6,085.7 UAH. At the same time, the actual minimum subsistence level for a pensioner in February 2025 reached 6,685 UAH, indicating that the minimum payments are insufficient to meet basic needs.
According to pension expert Serhiy Korobkin, the compensatory payment for individuals who reach 80 years of age was introduced back in April 2020. Increases for people aged 75-79 appeared later, and for the age group of 70-74 years — from October 2022. The supplement is established from the date of reaching the corresponding age: if, for example, a person turns 70 in the middle of the month, the supplement is calculated only for part of the month. As age increases, the amount of the supplement also rises.
