Key Project Details and Investment Volume

As part of the agreement, IFC, in collaboration with Japan, will provide NovaSklo with advisory and analytical support for the project’s implementation. The construction of the new plant is planned to be completed by 2028, with an investment volume reaching €250 million. The enterprise will create over 300 jobs, contributing to the development of the industry and the economy of the country.

The Importance of Float Glass for the Ukrainian Market

Float glass is a primary material for the production of windows, facades, mirrors, automotive glass, and solar panels. Ukraine imports hundreds of thousands of tons of this type of glass annually, leading to significant dependence on external suppliers. The launch of the plant in the Kyiv region will allow for the localization of production, support national recovery programs, and bolster the Ukrainian industrial sector.

To implement the project, NovaSklo is engaging the expertise of international industrial leaders such as Nippon Sheet Glass Group and HORN Glass Industries. Collaboration with these companies will facilitate the introduction of modern technologies and production standards.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC, World Bank Group) and NovaSklo (EFI Group) have signed a document that lays the foundation for the establishment of the first high-tech float glass production facility in Ukraine. The enterprise is expected to meet the country’s demand for such building materials and reduce dependence on imports.
