New Registration Rules for Border Crossing in Ukraine: What’s New for Drivers

New registration rules have been implemented in Ukraine for individuals planning to cross the state border. According to the updates, only a limited number of drivers are required to additionally use the special module “18−60”, also known as “Shlyakh”.

Who Needs to Apply Through the “18−60” Module

Now, only those carriers who engage in commercial activities in the field of international passenger transportation by passenger cars on demand or provide international taxi services are required to apply through the “18−60” module. For other carriers, the registration procedure has been simplified: the eQueue system functions as a single window for submitting information when booking a place in the online queue for crossing the border.

Driver Verification Algorithm and New Requirements

Data about drivers seeking to exit are verified by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine based on information entered into the eQueue system. Simultaneously, eQueue verifies the information against the carrier’s licensing file in the Unified Complex of Information Systems of Ukrtransbezpeka (EKIS).

“Only those drivers are allowed to exit who: are entered in the electronic cabinet of the carrier in EKIS Ukrtransbezpeka; have their foreign passport data added to the ‘Additional’ section in ‘My Drivers’; and use the specific foreign passport that is registered in the eQueue and EKIS Ukrtransbezpeka.”

Thus, the new measures aim to simplify the exit process for most carriers, leaving additional verification only for specific categories. All drivers must ensure that their data in the electronic cabinets is up to date and use the foreign passport that is registered in the respective systems.
