New International Brands Open Stores in Ukraine Despite the War

Despite the ongoing war, Ukraine remains attractive to international retailers. In recent years, new foreign brands have been actively entering the Ukrainian market, opening flagship stores in various cities across the country.

Opening of New Stores by Well-Known Brands

In 2024, several global companies began operations in Ukraine. In particular, the Polish chain Worldbox is preparing to open its first store in Izmail, Odesa region. The retail space, covering 400 square meters, will offer customers clothing and accessories from leading global brands.

In July, the first store of the Turkish denim brand Mavi opened in Chernihiv. It spans 328 square meters and its assortment is aimed at modern fashion enthusiasts.

In May, the Czech chain Captain Candy, specializing in sweets, opened its store in Kyiv. This opening is part of the expansion of European retail chains into the Ukrainian market.

Market Presence Expansion

In January, a Karl Lagerfeld Jeans store – a subsidiary line of the famous fashion house Karl Lagerfeld – appeared in the capital. Additionally, in September 2024, the American footwear brand UGG opened its first flagship store in Kyiv. Prior to this, UGG had only been present in the form of small retail outlets in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro.

In November 2023, the Polish retailer HalfPrice, specializing in clothing and home goods, entered the Ukrainian market. The first store of the chain, covering over 1,800 square meters, opened in the capital. As of October 2025, there are already six HalfPrice stores operating in Ukraine: three in Kyiv and one each in Lviv, Odesa, and Chernihiv.
