Most Ukrainians Do Not Plan to Change Jobs: Results of the Viber Study

According to the results of a large-scale study by Rakuten Viber Ukraine, which involved over 18,000 users, most Ukrainians in 2026 remain loyal to their current jobs and do not seek significant changes in their careers. For 65% of respondents, their salary remains the primary and only source of income, without additional side jobs.

Career Plans and the Labor Market: Choosing Stability

During a survey about job changes over the past year, which involved over 16,400 respondents, 45% of Ukrainians indicated that they remain in the same job and have no intention of changing anything. Another 19% have not worked before and are not working now, while 11% are currently looking for a job after previous employment. Only 10% changed jobs on their own initiative, while 9% are still in their current position but plan to change it in the future. Some were forced to change jobs due to layoffs or company closures (3%), 2% work entirely freelance, and 1% received their first job this year.

Additional Income: How Many Ukrainians Have Side Jobs or Their Own Business

The second part of the study focused on additional sources of income, with nearly 19,000 people participating. According to the results, 65% of respondents earn income solely from their main job. At the same time, 35% of those surveyed find ways to diversify their finances. Specifically, 14% occasionally take on side jobs, 10% work in two or more jobs, 8% have passive income, and 3% combine work with developing their own business as entrepreneurs.

For reference: in Ukraine, over 70,000 entrepreneurs have already exceeded an annual income of 10 million hryvnias.
