Capabilities and Logistical Advantages of the New Asset

After the acquisition, Metinvest plans to supply products manufactured in Iași not only to the European Union market but also for the reconstruction of Ukraine’s infrastructure. Due to the advantageous location of the facility in Romania, which is only 600 km from Zaporizhzhia, Metinvest will be able to annually ship up to 180,000 tons of hot-rolled coils produced at Zaporizhstal to ensure the stable operation of the new plant.

Strategic Development and Integration

The group’s plans include the complete integration of the Romanian enterprise into its own production chains by 2026. Prior to this acquisition, Metinvest did not have separate pipe plants, although pipes were produced at one of the group’s plants in Mariupol before the full-scale war. This acquisition marks the company’s first production site in Romania.

In addition to its assets in Ukraine and Romania, the Metinvest Group owns enterprises in Italy, Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, and the United States, allowing the company to expand its presence in international markets and enhance its export potential.

The enterprise specializes in the production of welded structural pipes for construction, machine engineering, infrastructure, and the agribusiness sector.
