Textile-Contact Invested Over $15 Million in Development During the War

The group of companies “Textile-Contact,” one of the largest textile manufacturers in Ukraine, continues to actively develop despite the challenging conditions of war. The founder of the company, Oleksandr Sokolovskyi, reported that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion by Russia, investments in business development have exceeded $15 million. These funds have been directed towards modernizing production, implementing new technologies, and expanding production capacities.

New Productions and Innovations

Throughout 2023-2024, the company launched the production of non-woven materials, implemented laser cutting and digital printing on fabrics, and began manufacturing knitted products. Among the significant investments is the purchase of a factory in Poland, which was transported to Chernihiv for assembly on 65 trucks. The cost of this project amounted to over €1.8 million. At the same time, “Textile-Contact” is actively implementing robotics, which allows for a fourfold increase in labor productivity. Additionally, the company opened new sewing factories in Lubny and Boryspil.

“In 2023-2024, we launched the production of non-woven materials, introduced laser cutting, digital printing on fabrics, started manufacturing knitted products, and purchased an entire factory in Poland, which we transported to Chernihiv on 65 trucks for assembly. This project alone cost over €1.8 million. We have serious plans for the automation of production, which will quadruple labor productivity. We launched new sewing factories in Lubny and Boryspil. And this is just the beginning,” he detailed.

Challenges and Focus on Export

According to Sokolovskyi, in recent years the group has transferred ₴1.1 billion in taxes to the budget. At the same time, the company faces challenges, particularly a reduction in the share of exports in revenues: from 15% to 5%. This is related to the scaling down of international support programs from the UN, UNICEF, and USAID, under which “Textile-Contact” supplied products to foreign clients. Despite this, the company identifies export as a key focus for 2025, primarily targeting the European Union market.
