As a result of a large-scale attack by the Russian Federation on the night of May 14, the Kyiv region suffered significant destruction and casualties. At least seven people were injured due to rocket and drone strikes, including a child. Residential and commercial buildings, as well as transportation, sustained considerable damage.

Injured and evacuation in the Boryspil district
According to operational information, the highest number of casualties was recorded in the Boryspil district, where five people were injured, including a child. In this district, a 27-year-old man with multiple shrapnel wounds and a 56-year-old woman with blast injuries were hospitalized. Two other injured individuals—a child and women aged 20 and 37—received medical assistance on-site and did not require hospitalization. Due to the destruction and threat to life, 30 residents were evacuated from a high-rise building.
In the Fastiv district, two women aged 32 and 42 were injured: one has limb injuries, while the other is in a state of acute stress reaction. Medical personnel provided them with necessary assistance at the scene.
Extent of destruction and actions of rescuers
Russian shelling affected at least six districts of Kyiv region. In the Obukhiv district, private houses were damaged; in the Brovary district—housing, a vehicle, and an enterprise; and in the Bila Tserkva district—a private house. In the Bucha district, a warehouse fire occurred, and two vehicles caught fire. In the Fastiv district, a multi-story building was damaged, while in the Boryspil district—a high-rise building, private houses, outbuildings, an enterprise, and transportation.
Fires that broke out in several settlements were promptly extinguished by the State Emergency Service units. Rescuers and psychologists are working at the scenes, providing assistance to affected residents. The final scale of the destruction is still being clarified, and the elimination of the consequences is ongoing.
“The enemy is once again waging war against life itself. They want to sow fear and break us. But Kyiv region has stood firm and holds strong. We will help every affected family, restore everything that has been damaged, and we will definitely become even stronger,” wrote Mykola Kalashnyk.
As of the morning of May 14, an air alert continued in Kyiv, and air defense forces were working to destroy enemy targets. All services continue to clear debris, extinguish remaining fire hotspots, and assist people whose homes have been affected by shelling.
