Maersk Increases Rates for Rail Container Transport Starting in 2026

The Danish transport and logistics corporation A.P. Moeller-Maersk has announced an update to the rates for imported rail container transport, which will take effect on January 5, 2026. Compared to the rates introduced on October 1 of this year, the cost of shipping 20-foot containers will increase by 5.6–20% depending on the destination.

This is reported by Finway

Rate Increases on Key Routes

According to the new pricing, the largest increase is expected for the route from Gdansk Port (Gdansk DCT) to the terminal in Boryspil — an increase of 20%, reaching $1,800. The rate for delivery to the Mostyska terminal will rise by 12% to $1,400, while to Ternopil it will increase by 10%, reaching $1,650.

The most expensive routes remain those from Gdansk to Dnipro (Lisky), Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv — $1,900 per container, where the increase is 5.6%.

Changes for Other Destinations

The cost of importing a 20-foot container from Gdansk to Klevan will rise by 9.7% — to $1,700, and to Vinnytsia by 9.1%, to $1,800. Meanwhile, the Poltava terminal is no longer listed as a destination for imported and exported containers.

For routes through the Fishing Port of Chornomorsk, rates for Kharkiv and Mostyska will remain at the previous level — $630 and $690 respectively. For the other six terminals, rates will increase by 13–17.6%.

Starting in January, the import price for a 20-foot container to Boryspil will be $630, to Vinnytsia — $600, to Ternopil, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia — $720, and to Klevan — $780.

“The new import rates apply to new requests (based on the date of receipt of the Delivery Order),” the statement said.
