Poland Expands Its Role as an Energy Hub

Slovak President Peter Pellegrini announced that Poland will supply Slovakia with American liquefied natural gas (LNG), which is set to completely replace energy resources from Russia. Polish President Karol Nawrocki emphasized that Poland will soon become a key transit hub for the supply of LNG from the USA to Central and Eastern European countries.

“In Poland, we have an LNG terminal in Świnoujście. The construction of a terminal in the Baltic Sea will also be completed soon. We have an interconnector with Slovakia. Therefore, Central and Eastern European countries face an important task, in which we must be united: complete independence from Russian gas,” he stressed.

Ukraine and Poland: Prospects for Long-Term Partnership

Ukraine has been purchasing American LNG through Poland since 2017. Currently, negotiations are underway between the Polish company PKN Orlen and Naftogaz regarding the possibility of signing a long-term gas supply agreement. The energy partnership between Warsaw and Kyiv is seen as a foundation for creating a powerful regional gas hub that will ensure energy security for Central and Eastern Europe.
