Property owners in Ukraine significantly increased their property tax payments in 2025. According to the State Tax Service, the amount of revenue to local budgets rose by 22% compared to the same period last year.

Revenue Volume and Regional Leaders
The total amount of property tax paid from January to August 2025 was nearly 8.7 billion UAH. This is 1.6 billion UAH more than the corresponding period in 2024. The largest amounts were contributed by the following regions:
- Kyiv — 1.74 billion UAH
- Kyiv Region — 0.86 billion UAH
- Dnipropetrovsk Region — 0.84 billion UAH
- Odesa Region — 0.83 billion UAH
Over eight months, 740 thousand taxpayers paid the property tax.
Procedure for Calculating and Paying the Tax
In 2025, individuals pay property tax based on the results of 2024. To independently calculate the tax amount, one can use the online calculator on the official website of the State Tax Service. The obligation to pay arises for owners of:
- apartments larger than 60 sq. m;
- houses larger than 120 sq. m;
- other types of residential property or their shares, if the area exceeds 180 sq. m.
Generated tax notifications are available in the Electronic Cabinet using an electronic signature, as well as through the mobile application “My Tax”.
