Authorities’ Position on Evacuation from Kyiv

The city authorities have officially stated that the issue of evacuating Kyiv residents is not currently under consideration. Special attention is being given by city services to those citizens who, due to health conditions or other difficult circumstances, are unable to care for themselves. Social workers are actively assisting these individuals with temporary relocation, organizing hot meals, providing medications, and care.

“All actions of the city authorities are aimed at ensuring the continuous operation of critical infrastructure and providing basic services to the population even in the event of emergency or stabilization outages. For this purpose, the city has ensured backup power for heating, water supply, and wastewater facilities where technically feasible,” emphasized the Kyiv City State Administration.

Assistance to the Population and Current Situation

The Kyiv City State Administration urges residents to report to the district state administrations or the Department of Social and Veteran Policy of the Kyiv City State Administration about individuals in need of support. All efforts of city services are focused on ensuring the functioning of critical infrastructure even in the event of new damages or the need for emergency outages.

At the same time, in certain areas of the capital, the situation with heating remains tense. People’s Deputy Serhiy Nahorniak reported that Kyiv’s heat and power plants could be restored, but currently, the country lacks sufficient resources for this process.
