Objective of the Brave Lithuania Initiative

Brave Lithuania aims to assist Ukrainian and Lithuanian developers in rapidly creating and implementing technological solutions for the defense sector. Special attention is given to priority areas of defense tech: unmanned systems, electronic warfare means, artificial intelligence, modern communication systems, and other technologies necessary to enhance battlefield defense effectiveness.

Development of Ukraine’s Defense Industry and the Role of Partnership

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced the launch of the program alongside Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė in Vilnius. According to Svyrydenko, the Ukrainian defense industry is currently demonstrating one of the highest growth dynamics in the world: since 2022, production capacities have increased 50 times — from 1 billion to 50 billion dollars.

“Ukraine has a unique experience in creating defense technologies in the context of a modern full-scale war. Lithuania is one of our closest partners in the field of security and defense. The unification of the defense innovation ecosystems of our countries opens new opportunities for joint developments,” Svyrydenko noted.

The implementation of the program from the Ukrainian side will be ensured by the Brave1 cluster, which specializes in the development of defense technologies. Svyrydenko emphasized that such partnerships strengthen Ukraine’s defense capability and enhance the security of all of Europe.

Earlier, a competition for defense startups called Battle Proven was announced in Ukraine, which also contributes to the development of innovations in the military sphere.
