Updated Macroeconomic Forecasts for Ukraine
In the latest World Economic Outlook report prepared by the IMF in October 2025, the forecasts for Ukraine’s economic growth in the coming years are also specified. The Fund has maintained its GDP growth estimate for Ukraine at 2.0% for 2025. In 2026, a gross domestic product increase of 4.5% is expected, and in 2027, the growth rate may reach 4.8%.
Conditions for Macroeconomic Stability
The published forecasts are based on the assumption that the active phase of Russia’s war against Ukraine will end by late 2025. Under this scenario, the Ukrainian economy will gradually restore its growth rates and stability in the currency market.
“The dollar will cost 50 hryvnias only in 2029.”
Thus, the IMF expects a stable gradual strengthening of the Ukrainian economy in the coming years, provided that the security situation improves.
