Who Can Apply for the Supplement
According to paragraph 6 of Article 7 of Ukraine’s Law No. 1727, additional financial assistance is granted to individuals aged 80 and over who are recognized as single, require constant care, and receive an old-age pension. The term “single” is defined by Article 266 of the Family Code of Ukraine, which states that such individuals are those who do not have adult capable children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren who are obligated to support them. A mandatory condition is the confirmation of the need for care by a medical commission.

Amount of Payment and Application Conditions
The amount of the supplement is 40% of the minimum subsistence level for persons unable to work. For 2025, this amount is 944 hryvnias per month. It is important to note that the supplement is not granted to those pensioners who are already receiving an allowance for caring for relatives.
To apply for the payment, one must personally visit the nearest branch of the Pension Fund of Ukraine and submit an application in the established form. You should bring your passport, identification code, a certificate from the medical commission confirming the need for constant care, as well as documents that confirm your single status and the absence of other sources of income besides the pension.
After the Pension Fund confirms the right to the supplement, the pension will be increased by 944 hryvnias from the month the application is submitted.
