Gas Crisis in Russia: Fuel Shortage at Gas Stations in Sverdlovsk Region Intensifies

The gas crisis in the Russian Federation is deepening, caused by attacks from Ukrainian drones on local oil refineries. Residents of the Sverdlovsk region report a lack of gasoline even at the gas stations of the country’s largest oil companies.

Gasoline Shortage Affects Even Major Gas Stations

In the Sverdlovsk region, 95-octane gasoline has disappeared from sale. Local residents note that it is impossible to refuel not only at private gas stations but also at the stations of energy giants such as Gazprom, Rosneft, and Lukoil. One resident of Yekaterinburg shared:

“There is some problem with fuel supplies in our city. I visited three gas stations this morning, and there is no 95-octane or G-Drive,” said one resident of Yekaterinburg.

Another local driver mentioned that many motorists are forced to drive around the city in search of fuel, but their efforts remain in vain. According to her, at one of the gas stations, she was told that there is no fuel even at the oil depot, leaving the station staff in a state of uncertainty.

Fuel Shortage Affects Emergency Services

Amid growing difficulties with gasoline supplies, a resident of the Sverdlovsk region reported on social media that she was denied a call for an ambulance due to the fuel shortage. She noted that the dispatcher explained that currently, ambulance calls are only being responded to for urgent cases to conserve gasoline.

At the same time, the anti-terrorism commission of the Sverdlovsk region denied the information about selective ambulance dispatches, stating:

“All residents of the region are provided with medical assistance, including ambulance dispatches, in full and according to established procedures,” the statement from Anti-Terror Ural said.
