Fuel Prices at Ukrainian Gas Stations: Diesel, Gasoline, and Gas Prices Rise

The average price of diesel fuel at gas stations in Ukraine currently stands at 58.46 UAH per liter, while autogas is priced at 34.99 UAH per liter. Over the past week, diesel prices at gas stations have increased; however, the main focus of market participants has been on liquefied gas, which has shown a sharp rise in price after a prolonged period of stability.

Price Dynamics of Diesel and Gasoline

In European markets, diesel fuel has risen by nearly 105 dollars per ton since the end of October, and on November 18, its price increased by another 37 dollars. However, just a few days later, prices began to decline: within three days, they lost 60 dollars, which is almost 2.56 UAH/l. The Ukrainian wholesale market quickly reacted and returned to last week’s level of 52.66 UAH/l. Meanwhile, prices in the retail market rose more slowly, with gas stations increasing prices by an average of only 35 kopecks over the week, reaching 58.46 UAH/l.

The largest price increase was recorded at the “Olas” network gas stations – up 3 UAH per liter (to 55.99 UAH/l). Additionally, “Avantage 7”, “BRSM-Nafta”, UPG, and “Parallel” increased their prices by 0.50 to 2 UAH/l. Diesel at the “BRSM” network in the Mykolaiv region remains the cheapest in the country at 51.99 UAH/l.

Increase in Prices for Liquefied Gas

The autogas (LPG) market also demonstrated a price increase. In the southern part of the country, there are delays in supplies, while in the west, there is a reduction in offers and an increase in resource prices against the backdrop of currency fluctuations. As a result, the average price of LPG rose by 61 kopecks from November 17 to 24, reaching 34.99 UAH/l.

In premium networks such as OKKO and WOG, prices increased by 1 UAH (to 36.99 UAH/l), while SOCAR raised its prices by 1 UAH (34.98–36.98 UAH/l depending on the region). “Ukrnafta” increased its price by 30 kopecks, but in the Odesa region, it decreased by 1.5 UAH/l due to proximity to a source of cheaper resources. In UPG, the increase varied by region – from 40 kopecks to 1 UAH (34.20–35.25 UAH/l). “Avantage 7” raised its price by 50 kopecks (32.95 UAH/l), while at “BRSM-Nafta”, the increase ranged from 20 kopecks to 1 UAH per liter depending on the region.

“The difference between the price at which gas stations buy fuel and the price at which they sell it to drivers has shrunk to a minimum since January – only 4.44 UAH/l. This has forced networks to continuously raise prices.”

The lowest prices in the LPG market are recorded at the ZOG network (31.50 UAH/l) and at Mykolaiv’s “Kvorum” (31.58 UAH/l). The Shell network, on the other hand, has reduced its prices by 0.7–2.5 UAH/l, establishing a new range of 32.99–34.79 UAH/l, whereas previously the price was uniform at 35.49 UAH/l.

In the premium segment, the price difference compared to discount retailers has increased to 3.29 UAH/l, and the number of networks with prices above average has decreased from nine to five.
