Fuel Prices in Ukraine: Forecast for Gasoline and Diesel Costs on April 6

The fuel market in Ukraine at the beginning of April is showing another wave of price fluctuations affecting all major types of fuel. After a brief period of relative stability at the end of March, the price of diesel fuel and automotive gas has started to rise again, while gasoline prices remain ambiguous—both increases and slight decreases are recorded depending on the gas station network.

Fuel Price Dynamics: The Situation in April

Since April 1, prices for diesel and autogas in Ukraine have noticeably increased, with some areas seeing a rise of up to 2 UAH per liter. The gasoline segment, meanwhile, is demonstrating mixed trends, complicating the forecasting of further changes. As of April 3, the average prices were as follows:

  • premium A-95 gasoline — 75.03 UAH/l (-0.53);
  • A-95 gasoline — 71.83 UAH/l (+0.02);
  • A-92 gasoline — 66.43 UAH/l (-0.03);
  • diesel fuel — 87.63 UAH/l (+0.76);
  • automotive gas — 47.39 UAH/l (+0.39).

Price Forecast at Gas Stations on April 6: State Sector and Private Networks

To stabilize the market, the government has mandated the state company “Ukrnafta” to sell fuel with a minimal markup, allowing drivers to purchase it cheaper specifically in the state segment. It is expected that on April 6, prices here will be:

  • 95 Energy gasoline — 68.90 UAH/l;
  • A-95 gasoline — 68.90 UAH/l;
  • A-92 gasoline — 65.90 UAH/l;
  • 98 Energy gasoline — 77.90 UAH/l;
  • diesel fuel — 84.90 UAH/l;
  • Energy diesel fuel — 88.90 UAH/l;
  • automotive gas — 47.90 UAH/l.

In contrast to the state segment, prices at private gas station networks are less predictable and may remain higher. Approximately on April 6, leading networks have set the following prices:

  • WOG: A-95 gasoline — 75.00 UAH/l; Mustang 95 — 78.00 UAH/l; Mustang 100 — 85.00 UAH/l; diesel fuel — 89.90 UAH/l; Mustang+ — 92.90 UAH/l; gas — 48.99 UAH/l.
  • OKKO: A-95 gasoline — 75.00 UAH/l; Pulls 95 — 78.00 UAH/l; Pulls 100 — 85.00 UAH/l; diesel fuel — 89.90 UAH/l; Pulls — 92.90 UAH/l; gas — 49.00 UAH/l.

“To stabilize the fuel market situation, the government previously instructed the state operator ‘Ukrnafta’ to sell fuel with a minimal markup. As a result, the state segment currently remains more accessible for drivers”.

Car owners participating in the “National Cashback” program can receive additional bonuses. To do this, they need to refuel at a gas station participating in the program and pay with a card linked to the service—the funds will be automatically credited to their account.
