In Ukraine, there is a decrease in prices for a number of fruits and vegetables, particularly experts note a drop in the price of garden strawberries. Over the past week, prices for some categories of fruits and vegetables have recorded declines. According to the specialized portal EastFruit, after a prolonged increase in prices for white cabbage, as of April 30, the vegetables were sold at a price of 40-48 UAH/kg ($0.96-1.15/kg), which is 10% cheaper than at the end of the previous working week.

The decrease in value is associated with a rapid deterioration in the quality of stored cabbage, as well as an increase in the supply of early products. In addition to cabbage, onions have also become cheaper in Ukraine. According to a recent survey, market participants predict further price reductions for this popular vegetable in the new season.
Price Dynamics for Vegetables and Fruits
Prices for cucumbers in Ukraine have been falling for the third consecutive week. As of May 1, greenhouse complexes offered cucumbers at a price of 40-70 UAH/kg ($0.96-1.69/kg), which is on average 12% cheaper than at the end of the week before last. Experts believe that this trend is related to an increase in market supply.
Additionally, price reductions are observed for tomatoes and sweet peppers. As reported by Ukrainian greenhouse complexes, as of May 2, the prices for greenhouse tomatoes were 70-100 UAH/kg ($1.68-2.40/kg), which is 18% cheaper than at the end of the week before last. There has also been a decrease in prices for radishes and Beijing cabbage, while among greens, there is a drop in the prices of lettuce, dill, and green onions. At the same time, some vegetables, such as cauliflower, broccoli, and zucchini, have slightly increased in price.

Regarding fruits, specialists have noted a decrease in the price of garden strawberries; however, prices for apples continue to rise for the third consecutive week. The price range for pears has also narrowed. The situation in the fruit and vegetable market shows active changes that may influence future pricing trends.
