Details of the Medical Screening Program

According to Deputy Minister of Health Maria Karchevych, the state will cover the full cost of the examination.

“It will be free of charge. It is expected that next year at least 5 million people will be able to participate in such a program. Overall, there are about 19 million people in Ukraine aged 40 and over”

— emphasized the official.

Within the framework of the program, the cost of one screening will be 2,000 hryvnias. This amount will be paid by the state for the provided medical services. Each patient will independently choose the medical facility where they will undergo the examination.

Implementation and Funding Mechanism

The National Health Service of Ukraine will monitor the entry of data regarding the screening into the electronic health system. According to Health Minister Viktor Lyashko, a special card will be generated for each participant in the program, to which funds for the examination will be allocated. Ukrainians will be able to choose a convenient time and hospital for their check-up, and private clinics are also planned to be involved in the program.

The draft state budget for 2026 allocates 10 billion hryvnias for targeted payments to citizens over 40 who will undergo comprehensive health screening. The program includes checks for cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and mental health assessments.
