Main Projects of Consensys and Company Development
Consensys operates as a multifaceted organization that encompasses a variety of products and services. Among them, the cryptocurrency wallet MetaMask is particularly well-known, as well as the L2 network Linea and the API provider Infura. Andreoli, who has been with the company for about four years, emphasized the importance of ecosystem development and supporting innovative teams that create Web3 solutions.
He specifically mentioned the recent acquisition of the key management and infrastructure provider Web3Auth by Consensys. According to Andreoli, the integration of Web3Auth aims to enhance the user experience of MetaMask by implementing modern authentication mechanisms from the traditional Web2 environment.
Advice for Developers and the Role of Hackathons
During his presentation, Andreoli elaborated on advice for developers planning to create products in the Web3 space or participate in hackathons. He recommends that developers be as engaged as possible in the professional community, actively participate in thematic events, and focus on obtaining constructive feedback.
“My main recommendation is to be at the center of events, participate in hackathons, meet and talk to other people. […] Now, with a multitude of tools available, including AI, it seems to me that one can quickly go from zero to a minimum viable product (MVP),” said Andreoli.
He also emphasized the importance of documenting all stages of development, the ability to present one’s product to an audience, and conveying the key features of the solution. In his opinion, thorough feedback collection, especially critical feedback, is essential for improving the project. Andreoli stressed that it is not necessary to travel to obtain feedback—there are many online platforms, hackathons, and forums where one can present their work.
Among the tools that developers should use, Andreoli highlighted Cursor, as well as pre-compiled repositories and v0 from Vercel. He underscored that the Consensys team pays significant attention to diversifying workflows and effectively processing feedback at all stages of development.
Andreoli also noted that timely support is crucial for the development of developer teams—not only through hackathons but also through accelerators, grants, and other opportunities. He compared this journey to a marathon, emphasizing the need for hard work over the long distance.
Speaking about preparation for hackathons, Andreoli advised focusing on early planning and team formation, where each participant is responsible for their area, such as smart contracts or other domains.
